Terms of Service

The rules for using Tend, connecting a mailbox, reviewing AI-generated drafts, and managing subscription access.

Last updated: June 23, 2026

Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of Tend, an AI inbox assistant for connected email accounts. By creating an account, connecting a mailbox, starting a trial, or using Tend, you agree to these Terms.

The Tend service

Tend helps users sync email, sort and summarize messages, identify action items, search or chat with mailbox context, draft replies, improve compose text, save drafts, and send messages that the user approves. Tend may change, add, or remove features over time.

Accounts and mailbox connections

  • You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure.
  • You may connect Gmail, Outlook, or other supported mailboxes only if you have the right to grant Tend access to those accounts.
  • You are responsible for activity under your Tend account and for reviewing any actions taken through connected mailboxes.
  • You can disconnect a mailbox at any time through Tend or through your provider account settings.

OAuth permissions and email actions

Tend may request permissions to read mail, modify mailbox state, create drafts, and send mail. These permissions are used to provide user-facing inbox features. Tend is designed so that outbound messages are sent only after you approve the send action.

You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated drafts, summaries, suggested actions, recipients, attachments, and message content before relying on them or sending them.

AI-generated output

Tend uses AI to generate summaries, labels, draft replies, improvements, search answers, and other suggestions. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or inappropriate for a particular context. Tend does not provide legal, financial, medical, tax, or other professional advice.

You remain responsible for decisions you make, messages you send, commitments you accept, and content you approve or publish using Tend.

Acceptable use

  • Do not use Tend to break the law, violate others' rights, send spam, distribute malware, harass people, or misrepresent your identity.
  • Do not attempt to bypass security, rate limits, billing controls, usage limits, or access restrictions.
  • Do not use Tend to process data you are not authorized to access or share.
  • Do not reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or interfere with Tend or its providers except where law expressly allows it.

Subscriptions and payments

Some Tend features may be offered through a free trial, paid subscription, usage allowance, or other plan. Prices, limits, renewal terms, and cancellation options are presented in the product or checkout flow. Payments may be processed by Stripe or another payment provider.

Unless otherwise stated during checkout or required by law, subscription fees are billed in advance and may be non-refundable once a billing period begins.

Third-party services

Tend depends on third-party services such as Google, Microsoft, AI providers, hosting providers, logging providers, and payment processors. Your use of connected providers may also be governed by their terms and policies. Tend is not responsible for third-party services outside its control.

User content and rights

You retain your rights in your emails, drafts, prompts, settings, and other content. You grant Tend the rights needed to host, process, transmit, display, analyze, and modify that content only as necessary to provide and operate the service, comply with law, and enforce these Terms.

Tend and its licensors retain all rights in the product, software, design, branding, workflows, and underlying technology.

Privacy

Tend's handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. You should review it before connecting a mailbox.

Service availability

Tend may be interrupted, delayed, unavailable, or changed from time to time. We may suspend access for maintenance, security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, non-payment, or violations of these Terms.

Disclaimers

Tend is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that Tend will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that AI-generated output will be accurate or suitable for your needs.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tend and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, lost goodwill, or business interruption arising from or related to use of the service.

Termination

You may stop using Tend at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for the service or other users, fail to pay required fees, or if continued service would create legal or security risk. Some sections of these Terms will continue to apply after termination where their nature requires it.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product, legal requirements, or business practices change. The updated page will show the latest effective date. Continued use of Tend after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
